ghosts tell stories
Conventional startup wisdom is that constraints drive innovation and force focus. The same could be said for professional athletes. And no clearer constraint exists in the world of sport than The UFC Octagon: a competition area of 750 square feet, enclosed on all sides by a chain link fence, leaving nowhere to hide.
Two artists, né modern-day gladiators, pass through the fence and engage in battle. The winner gets to raise the black and gold UFC World Champion Belt. And, should a gladiator defend their title, a ruby is affixed to the belt to remind us of their historical greatness.
This ghost bears the “scars” of the chain link fence that is omnipresent in all UFC contests. It also dons the seal of the UFC World Champion belt upon its head, with one single ruby attached. It tells the story of the artists who have danced in The Octagon and emerged victorious. Are you not entertained?!
