Know Your History: 10 Years of StockX
When StockX launched in February of 2016, they instantaneously changed the course of sneaker culture and collecting. Not only that, they challenged the e-commerce status quo on how consumer goods could be bought and sold by applying the same bid/ask mechanics that have been used for centuries in the world's stock markets and to create an ultra-efficient peer to peer marketplace.
Initially only supporting (a small catalog) of sneakers that could be bought and sold, StockX quickly expanded into streetwear, watches, and handbags. Today, the StockX catalog is more expansive and voluminous than there are colorways of Nike Dunks.
